AFRO will organize a volunteer training in March 2009. Details as follows:
Date: 9/3 (Mon), 16/3 (Mon), 23/3 (Mon), 1/4 (Wed) (4 sessions)
Time: 3 pm – 5 pm
Venue: AFRO’s Centre (Yau Ma Tei)
Content:
1) Introduction to Sex Work in Hong Kong and Action for REACH OUT
2) Sex work related laws; criminal investigation and prosecution procedures; case studies
3) Sexual health
4) Outreach skills
Quota: 15-20 persons
Requirement: Chinese speaking; open-minded; with respect for sex workers

Notes:

• Applicants will be invited for a 15 to 30 minute pre-interview at AFRO’s Centre.
• Qualified applicants are expected to finish all 4 training sessions. AFRO staff will, on the basis of their observations and interactions with the participants, decide whether to invite them to the second stage of trainings on outreach sessions (at least 2 sessions in April 2009; accompanied by AFRO staff).
• AFRO staff will then decide if they are qualified to be regular outreach volunteers for AFRO based on their performance in the sessions.
